Going for Glow

1. Glow your lips

The look for lips is shiny or sheer, which is good news for those who find matte lippies make their dry lips look cracked and flaky. Not very attractive! Glosses give you an ultra shine and, unlike the ones your mom used to wear, the new breed slick on quick and stay put. If you are not brave enough to go completely glossy alone, you can update your favorite lippie by glossing over the top.
The sheer look, which is still moist, is a different story again. Sheer lip colors cover the lips lightly, giving a slight stain of color that lets your lips show through. Make the most of your old lipstick by mixing a little with a smidge of lip balm in the palm of your hand, and applying it with your finger.

2. Glow your eyes

Eyes are soft, pale and almost completely without color. Dip your pinkies into shades of pink, peach and beige and dab on your lids. Even though this look is see through, the impact of these pale hues will highlight your eyes. To bring out your eyes and make them look even bigger, stroke a white or silver shadow under your brow. Use the smallest amount of mascara and apply it to the top lashes only. Wipe the wand on a tissue beforehand to prevent any globby bits. The look is barely there, but beautiful.

3. Glow your face

Foundation should give you a gorgeous glow rather than a caked on mask look, which some matte foundations can do. Use a tinted moisturizer or mix a little moisturizer with your normal foundation to give you the sheer, dewy effect you’re after. Skip the powder altogether (if you can leave the house without it, dust only the tiniest bit on with a big powder brush). Spritz your face with atomized water to set the look and trap your skin’s natural moisture.

Make Your Own Body Scrub

This all natural exfoliating scrub is made from ingredients you probably have lying around the house. So not only is it great for your skin, but it’s dead cheap too!

What you need:

  • 125 g coarsely ground oatmeal
  • 125 g granulated white sugar
  • 125 g finely ground sea salt

What to do:

  • Mix the ingredients in a bowl and then pop it in an airtight container.
  • When you want to use the scrub, pour a little into the palm of your hand and massage into damp skin.
  • Rinse it off with warm water.
  • Keep the jar in the bathroom and use it each time you shower.
